We are pleased to have been awarded another grant from the Golding Homes Community Chest fund.
This fund is designed to support projects during the pandemic that benefit our local communities and is being used to continue our Foodshare project that provides food every week to our partners, Food For Thought at Maidstone Day Centre and The Life Cafe in Parkwood.
There are many people who are struggling and the Maidstone Day Centre and The Life Cafe has been able to provide valuable support for the homeless and people in need in Maidstone.
Scott from The Life Cafe says that; “Contact with the delivery driver for some people can be as valuable as the food parcels themselves for those living in isolation.”
It is a privilege for the Blackthorn Trust to help such worthwhile community projects and we would like to say a big thank you to Golding Homes for enabling us to continue our work in supporting local people in the community during the pandemic and beyond.
